Kosher's meaning

"Kosher" – a Definition "Kosher" is a Hebrew word that literally means "fit" or "proper." When used in relation to food products, "kosher" means that the item in question meets the dietary requirements of Jewish law and is therefore acceptable for consumption by those adhering to kosher laws or to be used in products acceptable as kosher.

Basic Principles of Kosher

Although kosher food laws are really complex, there are four (4) basic and simple rules in their main points:

1, Never mix milk with meat.

2, Never process dairy products on the same device used to process meat products and vice versa.

3, Only certain animals, birds and fish are kosher.

4, Birds and animals must be slaughtered and processed for special use.

In addition to these laws, the two (2) common elements determine whether a company's products achieve kosher certification:

1, The origin of the ingredients and

2, Status of production equipment.

3 Kinds of Kosher

Each kosher certified food is also assigned to one of three (3) types of kosher:

1, Meat Kosher: Products containing kosher meat (such as bison, cow or sheep) or kosher chicken (chicken, turkey, goose or duck) or derived from meat, and even non-kosher products. Meat made with equipment used for the preparation of meat or meat products.

2, Dairy Kosher: Products containing milk or any dairy origin, and even non-dairy products processed by equipment used for the preparation of dairy or dairy products.

3, Parve Kosher:  All products do not contain meat or dairy ingredients, and have been processed by equipment that is never used dairy and meat products in the manufacturing. "
